What We Provide
From emergency shelter to long-term housing support, CCSI provides a continuum of care for those experiencing homelessness in our community.
What started as a 25-bed cold weather shelter has grown into a year-round program with over 100 beds — the only overnight shelter in the greater Metro DC region able to serve families with children. Open 365 days a year.
CCSI is uniquely positioned to shelter families with children — a population often turned away by other shelters in the region. No family should face homelessness without a safe place to stay.
Our staff works closely with families and individuals to identify resources, stabilize difficult situations, and create individualized plans to prevent future homelessness and secure stable housing.
CCSI staff help residents navigate the housing market, identify affordable options, and connect with resources for security deposits and first month’s rent to transition from shelter to stable housing.
Through partnerships with the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services and over 50 area congregations, CCSI is able to maximize resources and reach more people seeking support year-round.
CCSI accepts donations of needed items for shelter residents. Call 2-1-1 to discuss donating hygiene kits, blankets, pillowcases, towels, sheets, and washcloths to help those in our care.
