Equipping individuals, professionals, and communities with the tools to recognize, respond to, and prevent crisis — together we save more lives.
Who We Are
CCSI’s Outreach and Training programs bring the knowledge and skills of crisis intervention directly to individuals, organizations, and communities across Prince George’s County and the surrounding region. Our goal is simple: the more people who know how to recognize a crisis and respond with compassion, the more lives we save.
Whether you’re a teacher, a first responder, a faith leader, a business owner, or simply a concerned community member — CCSI has a training program designed for you. Our certified trainers bring nationally recognized programs to your location, your team, and your community.
We also offer community outreach services — bringing CCSI’s presence and resources directly into the community through events, tabling, presentations, and partnerships that connect people seeking support to available resources to them.

Our Training Programs
CCSI offers three nationally certified training programs that equip participants with the awareness, confidence, and skills to recognize signs of crisis — and take action. All trainings are available for organizations, community groups, schools, faith communities, and businesses throughout our region.
safeTALK is a half-day interactive training that prepares participants to become suicide-alert helpers. You will learn to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide, engage them openly, and connect them with life-saving intervention resources.
👤 Ages 15 and upASIST is an intensive two-day interactive workshop where participants learn to provide first aid to someone at immediate risk of suicide. This in-depth, skills-based training is designed for anyone who wants to be able to help prevent suicide.
👤 Ages 16 and upMental Health First Aid teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Just like CPR, this training helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health crisis until professional help is available.
👤 Open to all adultsASK — Assessing for Suicide in Kids — is a two-day training designed to equip adults with the knowledge and skills to identify warning signs of suicide risk in children and youth. Participants learn how to assess, respond, and connect young people with the help they need before a crisis occurs.
